Ottobiography is going in a totally new direction. After almost three years of Otto and Carl, the comic is now throwing paper balls in the traditional face of the blog humor genre. Simpler, more stream-lined, more color – basically just more shit-awesome – with lasers and dry ice. Nuf said. Because the world doesn’t need more of what Otto isn’t. I don’t know where this comic will go but it sure’shell won’t go backwards.

I’ve moved away from traditional pen and paper, to pen tablet work, to draw Otto and Carl – and with this new medium I’ll be changing Otto’s SHAPE and STYLE. More color, more interactions with other creatures, more everything. The only thing that stays intact is his winning personality.

1. Otto is a turnip: not an onion, not a pokemon, a turnip, with feelings, ambitions and hatreds that turnips have. Otto is usually good-intentioned despite his mortal fear of bears and his need to slay them. He is also working on his first zombie apocalypse novel.

2. Sidekick cat, Carl: resentful, disapproving, highly aggressive, highly intelligent. Has an inventory of weapons and enjoys pan-seared tuna in some nice crockery.

3. Home: White boxes of infinite space: They go on adventures, get into trouble, fight evil, or just eat food and chat. Everything is entertainment.

4. 3 Enemies: the floating Bearheads. The Triple Menace. Unpredictable, a constant threat, creepy, menacing, etc. They hover around creating tension by staring at you for long amts of time.

5. Otto’s girlfriend: the sweet and earnest Arna.
